WHO AM I?

My name is Mitchell Driver, and I’m on a mission to help people take back control of their weight, their health, and their lives. But before I tell you how — let me share why.

From Fit to Frustrated
As a teenager, I was slim, athletic, and full of energy — the kind of kid who lived for
sport. But everything changed after I left school. Weekends became filled with
drinking and partying, and by the age of 18, my weight had climbed from 10 stone to over 16 stone. I didn’t just feel heavy — I felt unhealthy, unmotivated, and disconnected from the active person I used to be. Determined to change, I did what we’re all taught to do: I cut calories, bought low-fat and low-sugar products, and hit the gym. It worked — temporarily. But every time I lost the weight, it crept back the moment life got in the way: a holiday, a stressful week, a break from the routine. Over the next five years, I rode this exhausting cycle of weight loss and gain, never understanding why it kept failing.

The Turning Point
Everything changed at the start of 2025, when I signed up for a charity boxing match. I was overweight and out of shape, and I knew that my usual quick-fix diet wouldn’t cut it. I didn’t just want to lose weight for the fight — I wanted lasting change. So, I dove into the science. I spent hours researching how the body actually processes food, why some diets fail, and what really leads to sustainable fat loss. What I discovered was eye-opening.

Challenging the Status Quo
Despite what we’re taught in school, there’s very little scientific evidence to support the long-term effectiveness of standard calorie-restriction diets. In fact, most people regain the weight — often with interest. I began exploring alternative approaches and came across the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting. These strategies went against everything I thought I knew: skipping breakfast, eating more fat, reducing carbs — but the results spoke for themselves.

My partner and I committed to a strict 10-week plan. Together, we lost over 4.5
stone, but more importantly, our mental and physical wellbeing transformed. We
experienced:

  • Sharper focus
  • Reduced brain fog
  • More energy
  • Improved mood
  • Surprisingly reduced hunger and fewer cravings — even while eating fewer meals
  • A renewed sense of control over our bodies

It felt like we were finally fuelling ourselves in a way that was natural, not forced.
Real Change — Without Perfection

After the boxing match, we transitioned into a more flexible low-carb lifestyle. We
had beer and chocolate when we wanted — and still kept losing weight. For the first time in years, weight management felt effortless. No more guilt, no more punishing diets — just a lifestyle that worked with our bodies, not against them.

Sharing What Worked

Seeing our transformation, I felt compelled to share what I’d learned. But when I tried to explain it to friends and family, I was met with confusion. “Skipping breakfast? Eating fat to lose fat? That can’t be right.” I realised how deeply rooted the old myths were — and how damaging they could be. We’ve been taught to fear fat, count every calorie, and trust food labels that promote “low-fat” and “low-calorie” products, many of which are ultra-processed and nutritionally empty.

The Birth of Rewrite the Recipe
I started small — helping family members with weekly meal plans, walking them
through the same techniques that had worked for us. Watching their lives change watching them feel better, move more, and enjoy food again — was incredibly fulfilling.

That’s when Rewrite the Recipe was born.

This isn't just a diet plan. It's a three-month journey that blends science, support, and real-life strategies to help people take control of their weight — and their mindset —for good.
